Size wise, the G2C sits between the two competitors with P365 being the most compact and G43X slightly longer. In comparing these guns, Taurus definitely gives the rest a run for their money given it has a higher capacity than both G43X and P365 and much cheaper. The price is hard to beat but there are a few pistols on the market that are comparable. Neither of these holds us back though and in the grand scheme of things, we rate the Tarus G2C very highly! What Sets it Apart?
#Taurus compact 9mm plus#
Plus, being so long and gritty makes it very difficult to accidentally set off – a major plus if you’re a newer CCW holder. But it isn’t the worst trigger in the world and it works. The second (possible) issue is the trigger. It also comes with internal safeties and a dongle on the trigger to prevent accidental discharges, so the external safety feels redundant and unnecessary. Two things stand out about the G2C that we don’t love – the trigger and external safety.Įxternal safeties in this day are becoming more and rarer but one can be found on the G2C. There are a lot of fancy ammo brands and loadings on the market and if you’re looking to concealed carry you should always use good defensive ammo – but when we’re doing a test on a new gun, it’s Wolf Steel Cased all day long! On the range is where things matter though… Range Report

The G2C makes a great home defense pistol because of it’s stellar reliability and 12-rounds 9mm capacity. Despite it’s smaller size, the mags had a pinky rest which still felt great for someone like me with bigger hands. The compact size makes this a great concealed carry gun. Check out our hands-on review of the G3C to see how it compares. But other than that, both guns are very similar with just minor differences or upgrades in the G3C. It’s cheaper for one (about $20-$30 cheaper than the G3C). Polymer frame, steel magazines holding 12-rounds of 9mm, easy to use sights, and slightly larger than the Sig P365 the G2C is on paper a great pistol.Īn older version of the Taurus G3C, the G2C still has its perk. But the G2C is designed from the ground up to be a highly affordable compact CCW pistol – and it nails it. Taurus has been around for a while and their reputation is…spotty.

The Taurus G3X also comes with a dovetail cut for the rear sight, allowing consumers to install popular aftermarket tritium night sights for enhanced low light performance.

The latter is the perfect upgrade option (available through Taurus USA) for those who wish to install a red dot optic. With its shorter length relative to the full-size Taurus G3, the new G3X is compatible with G3 and G3C T.O.R.O. At 6.5 inches, the Taurus G3X is more than three-quarters of an inch shorter than the G3, putting it on par with the compact G3C model and offering a lower profile for concealed carry duty. The key difference is the overall length of the Taurus G3X. What's nice about this beefed-up grip is that it both serves to reduce recoil and allows shooters with larger hands to get a more positive grip on the gun. The Taurus G3X is built on a similar full-size frame as the G3, with a grip width of 1.1 inches and an overall height of 5.2 inches with the included 15-round magazine. Shooters enjoy the quality and concealability of each, and Taurus identified the need for a pistol that is both slim and easily concealed (in the spirit of the Taurus G3C), yet has a little extra "oomph" in the form of higher capacity and a more substantial grip length. The G3X represents a design blend of two of Taurus’ more recent semi-auto pistols-the G3 full-size 9mm and the G3C compact 9mm.

but it is a hybrid of some of customers' most requested features from Taurus' hottest existing lines. No, the all-new G3X 9mm hybrid compact pistol doesn't plug into the wall and it doesn't need to be charged. It seems everyone's talking about hybrids these days, and at SHOT Show 2022, Taurusjoined the chorus.
